After Park I attended Ripon College graduating in 1971 with majors in French and Elementary Education. Tom Henkel and I were married in October, 1971, and we spent the next 38 years working and raising our kids in Racine. Tom worked for WI Natural Gas Company, and after being a stay-at-home mom for a few years, I got my Master's Degree, and I was a kindergarten teacher with Racine Unified until 2005. We then retired to sunny Arizona though I taught kindergarten and first grade in a charter schools in Chandler and Mesa until I retired again in 2014. We have lived in Queen Creek, AZ. since 2008, and I've been able to have my own horse, Cheyenne, in our own backyard since then. Dreams do come true! We, also, have a wonderful English Mastiff, Royce, who is our supreme baby at 150 Lbs. The canine and equine "kids" keep us home, but "home on the range" is where we want to be.
